Stephen O’Shea wins on a countback
A close competition in the Tuross Head men’s Saturday stableford event this week resulted in a win for Stephen O’Shea with 39 stableford points.
Stephen relegated Allan Langford to second on a countback. Matthew Minehan won third placing also on a countback with 38 points. Scott Henman and Rodger Chappell, who has according to our course reporter, spent a lot of time on the practise greens, returned cards of 38 points.
PGA golfer Rob Green, operating from the newly established Golf Pro Shop, is available to provide valuable golfing tips to improve members scoring ability. Some members seem to think going into the trees and the rough is a shortcut. It is not, the most direct line is from tee to green, but it is permitted to go off course to visit the Pro Shop.
Thursday’s medley match was won by Warren Hodder, who also scored an eagle on the difficult par 4 eighth hole.
Warren had a card of 40 points, ahead of Dorothy Madden, Paul Israel and Beverley Theobald with 39 points. Wendy Schmid followed with 38 points.
The last men’s Saturday competition for the year will be held on December 19. There will a lucky draw for those present.
20 hams will be available to some lucky golfers.
Also a Callaway golf bag donated by PGA golfer Brendan Jones will be raffled.
Another important date is the THCC Annual General Meeting to be held on Sunday December 13th.
Members must register to attend prior by Friday 27th.
