Sean was a local tradesman and two of his close mates have organised an annual golf event held on his birthday which falls on Australia Day. Sean Bamborough (Shoey) passed away 30/11/2018.

The event was organised by Peter Mostyn and Paul Ferguson and was strongly supported by the Tuross Head Country Club and men’s golf. The Shoey Memorial matches two teams against each other in a 2 Ball Ambrose.

Players are geographically assigned to Tuross “Beach Side” captained by Trevor Jones, against Coila “Dark Side” captained by Ron Rogers. It was noted that the “Dark Side” much preferred to be known by the more upmarket name of the “Enlightened Side”.

This is truly a great fun event intended to bring golfers & non golfers together for a fun Memorial Day.
This year the Beach Side won the event, for the second year.

The Shoey Memorial is a non profit event and also remembers golf members who have passed away during the year. This year remembering Ron Cox a past Life Member of our Tuross club.
